Privacy

The short version

Daily Mantel stores what your family types into it so it can show that back to you on your other screens. We don’t sell it, we don’t run advertising against it, and we don’t use it to train anything. You can delete your household and everything in it at any time.

What we store

• Your account: household name, email address, a bcrypt hash of your password and of your parent PIN (never the originals), your timezone, and the town you gave us for the weather.
• What you put in: events, chores and star balances, rewards, lists, recipes and meal plans, routines, goals, exercise plans, member names, colours, and emoji avatars.
• Photos and audio: images and any music files you upload are stored on Vercel Blob. Photos are stored at unguessable public URLs — anyone holding the exact link can view that file, so treat a photo link the way you would treat the photo.
• Push subscriptions: if you turn on notifications, the browser-issued endpoint needed to deliver them.
• Calendar feeds: if you subscribe to an outside calendar, we store the feed URL and a read-only copy of the events it returns. We never write back to it.
• Billing: if you subscribe, Stripe handles the card. We store only a customer id, a subscription id, and your plan. We never see or store card numbers.

Children

Children do not have accounts here. A kid profile is a tile inside your household — a name, a colour, and an emoji — created and owned by a parent. We do not collect a child’s email address, we do not let a child sign up, and we do not direct advertising at anyone. The adult who created the household owns everything in it and can edit or delete any of it, including a child’s profile and history.

Please don’t type a child’s full name, school, address, or medical details into fields that don’t need them. The app does not require any of that.

Who else touches your data

• Vercel — hosting, and Blob storage for photos and audio.
• Neon — the Postgres database.
• Open-Meteo — weather and city lookup. It receives coordinates, never your identity.
• Stripe — payments, for subscribers only.
• Anthropic — only on the Pro plan, and only for the specific thing you asked for. The text or image you hand to an AI feature is sent to Anthropic’s API to produce that result. If you never use an AI feature, nothing goes there.

That is the entire list. There are no analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or data brokers.

Deleting things

Deleting an item removes it. Deleting your household removes the household and everything scoped to it — members, events, chores, lists, recipes, photos, and audio. Ordinary infrastructure backups may hold copies for a short period before rotating out.
